Our Paver Patio Installation Services

We handle every aspect of paver patio construction — from demo and grading through base prep, paver installation, and final sealing. Our San Diego paver patio services include:

  • Travertine paver patios — ivory-cream and walnut-tone travertine in filled or unfilled finishes
  • Concrete paver patios — Belgard, Pavestone, and EP Henry products in dozens of colors and profiles
  • Natural flagstone patios — Arizona flagstone, Pennsylvania bluestone, and local quartzite
  • Permeable paver systems — code-compliant stormwater solutions for San Diego’s MS4 permit areas
  • Patio extensions and additions — matching existing material or creating a contrasting border course

All installations include compacted Class II base (6”+ depth), edge restraint, polymeric sand jointing, and a sealant coat appropriate for the material.

Why San Diego Homeowners Choose Our Patio Company

San Diego’s climate is unmatched for outdoor living — which means your patio gets used 300+ days a year. That puts real demands on the installation. We’ve built patios from Chula Vista to La Jolla to Carlsbad, and the conditions vary dramatically:

  • Coastal zones (Del Mar, Oceanside, Coronado) — salt air requires sealed travertine or salt-rated porcelain. We specify accordingly.
  • Inland valleys (Escondido, El Cajon, Santee) — expansive clay soils need a deeper base and proper drainage design to prevent settling.
  • Hillside lots (La Mesa, Lemon Grove, parts of Chula Vista) — sloped yards need retaining elements integrated into the patio design.

Our crews are licensed, insured, and pull permits where required. We carry a million general liability policy on every project.

Paver Patio Repair and Replacement Services

Not every project is new construction. We repair and restore existing paver patios throughout San Diego:

  • Sunken or uneven pavers — remove, re-grade base, relay pavers
  • Cracked or broken units — individual paver replacement with matched material
  • Efflorescence and staining — deep-clean and reseal
  • Sand washout from joints — pressure wash, re-sand with polymeric, reseal
  • Trip hazards — level individual pavers to ADA-compliant tolerances

If your patio is more than 50% failed, replacement is usually the better value. We’ll tell you honestly which option is right.

Frequently Asked Questions — Paver Patios San Diego

Do I need a permit for a paver patio in San Diego? Most residential paver patios in San Diego do not require a building permit. However, if your patio is raised more than 18 inches above grade, attached to a structure, or within a coastal zone, permit requirements may apply. We’ll flag any issues during the design consultation.

How long does paver patio installation take? A typical 500–800 sq ft paver patio takes 3–5 working days from demo to final seal. Complex projects with drainage work, seating walls, or lighting run 7–10 days.

What base do you use under pavers? We use a minimum 4” compacted Class II aggregate base for pedestrian patios, 6” for areas that might see vehicle traffic. All base material is compacted to 95% density per the manufacturer spec. This is where most cheaper contractors cut corners — and why their patios settle within 2–3 years.

Do you seal the pavers? Yes, all installations include one coat of penetrating sealer at completion. We recommend a follow-up seal every 3–5 years depending on material and sun exposure.

Can you match my existing pavers? Often yes. Travertine and concrete pavers have good production continuity from major manufacturers. We’ll bring a sample to match before committing to any repair work.

What warranty do you offer? 5 years on workmanship, covering base settlement, joint failure, and edge restraint. Material warranties pass through from the manufacturer (typically 10–25 years for concrete pavers, lifetime for natural stone).
